Tezos now live on Bridge Wallet

July 14th 2021

We’re happy to announce that Tezos has joined the list of blockchains supported by Bridge Wallet!

You can now use the app with the Tezos network (mainnet and testnet both supported) to send and receive XTZ, the native cryptocurrency of Tezos, with your brand new Tezos wallet address that you will find in the “Addresses” tab of the app.

Of course, we have enabled the possibility to buy XTZ by bank transfer from Bridge Wallet! You can buy tez by bank transfer in CHF, EUR, GBP or USD at the market with no added cost up to $500 (or up to $50,000 if you have MPS tokens).

You can also cash out XTZ from Bridge Wallet and withdraw your funds in 19 fiat currencies on your bank account around the globe, also free of charge up to $500.

Linking any other Tezos address that you may already own is also possible in Bridge Wallet, which will allow you to see their content from the app but also to receive XTZ directly on those addresses when buying by bank transfer. From your bank account straight to your own wallet! Here's how to do link an address.

You won’t be able to manually add other Tezos assets to your wallet for the moment, but that should change in the near future while we add more features to the Tezos network. To do so, we have won a grant from the Tezos Foundation. In addition to adding Tezos features to Bridge Wallet, that help from Tezos is also being used to adapt Bridge Protocol, our asset tokenization platform, to support the issuance and management of compliant tokenized securities such as shares, bonds or funds with the Tezos token standards.

What is Tezos?

Tezos celebrated its three year anniversary this year, making it one of the first and longest running Proof of Stake blockchains. Network activity on Tezos has grown 1,200 percent this year due in part to its energy-efficient design and ease of use. Game developers, music labels, comic book creators, sporting franchises, central banks, and more are all building on Tezos. Tezos also has a growing DeFi ecosystem with ERC-20 bridges for low-gas cross-chain utility, yield farming protocols, and surging AMM platforms.

What sets Tezos apart from other blockchain protocols is that it is built to remain state-of-the-art. Its modular architecture and formal upgrade mechanism minimizes disruptions while offering regular upgradability and enhanced functionality over time. Tezos has undergone six network upgrades to reduce gas fees, improve token standards, increase transaction speed, and more. Upgrades on Tezos are made possible by on-chain governance where continuous improvements are proposed, adopted, and deployed without forks.
